Responsibilities

Evaluate and grade students’ class work, laboratory performance, assignments, and papers. Evaluate student work.

Supervise students’ laboratory work. Supervise laboratory work.

Compile, administer, and grade examinations, or assign this work to others. Administer tests to assess educational needs or progress. Prepare tests. Evaluate student work.

Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts. Develop instructional materials.

Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and course materials and methods of instruction. Evaluate effectiveness of educational programs. Develop instructional objectives.

Supervise undergraduate or graduate teaching, internship, and research work. Supervise student research or internship work.

Requirements

Science — Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.

Speaking — Talking to others to convey information effectively.

Writing — Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

Active Listening — giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
