• A software tester participates in an initial consultation with the Marketing Personnel, for understanding the scope of a project.
• Either independently or in a group setting, he creates a testing plan based on the parameters outlined during the client consultation.
• Testing status is communicated either verbally or in writing to the Project Manager.
• Analyzing functional specs for completeness & testability.
• Investigate potential defects and discuss them with developers.
• Analyzing test output, identifying discrepancies and clearly documenting defects.
• At the conclusion of testing, he may make recommendations, debug failures and perform other tasks required by his client.
