Position: Occupational Therapist

Hours: Monday to Sunday – Days – 7.5 hours (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Site: Multi-site locations within Halton Healthcare

This is what you’ll be doing:
The therapist will work in collaboration with a physiotherapist, occupational therapy assistant/physiotherapy assistant and a multidisciplinary team, in acute medical, complex transitional care and rehabilitation programs. The therapist will assess and treat neurological patients and progress them through their care plan.

Registered with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario

Member of the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association or Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists preferred

Experience working with neurological conditions required

FIM Certification required

Cognitive/perceptual assessment and treatment skills

Demonstrate knowledge and experience working with patients in an acute inpatient setting

Demonstrate knowledge and experience working in an inpatient Geriatrics and acute medical setting

Demonstrate knowledge and experience in cognitive assessments and cognitive remediation/compensatory strategies

Knowledge and experience in the use of outcome measures

Must be flexible and demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with all team members

Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills

Excellent organizational abilities with proven time management skills

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position

Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
