We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sourcing Manager for Fabrics/Special

Fabrics & Trims to join our couture designer wear company in Kolkata. The ideal candidate

will have extensive experience in sourcing high-quality fabrics and non-fabric items such as

trims, with a strong background in vendor negotiation, cost optimization, and quality control.This role requires close collaboration with the Design and Production teams to ensure that all

materials meet the brand’s luxury standards. As a fabric / non-fabric (trims) sourcing

Manager, work with business stakeholders and the Senior Category Manager to ensure that

the sourcing activity is delivered effectively, and existing & past POs / contracts are reviewed

and negotiated while making new POs / contracts. Utilize the Business Sourcing Process,

whilst guaranteeing maximum value and innovation.It’ll be sourcing Manager responsibility to ensure the contracts remain in force and are

effective and kept up to date with market trends, price, customer service competitiveness and

regulatory change. The fabric & trim vendor’s progress on our orders is monitored from

inception through to completion, and the Sourcing Manager will analyze the process to

determine whether to use the supplier again or seek out higher quality or more cost-effective

providers.Key Responsibilities:1. Sourcing Fabrics & Special Materials:

Source high-quality fabrics and special materials from international vendors to meet the specific requirements of the Design and Production teams.

Source: Special Fabric (Ethnic) from Domestic Market.

Ensure all sourced materials align with the brand’s aesthetic and quality standards, particularly for couture designer wear.2. Vendor Management & Negotiation:

Identify and establish relationships with new vendors, both domestic and international, to expand the company’s sourcing network.

Negotiate favorable terms with vendors to optimize costs while maintaining quality.

Conduct regular audits of suppliers’ facilities to ensure compliance with quality standards and ethical practices.3. Sourcing Non-Fabric Items (Trims):

Source non-fabric items such as trims, buttons, and other accessories that complement the couture designs.

Collaborate with the Design team to ensure all non-fabric items meet the desired aesthetic and functional requirements.4. Quality Control:

Oversee and ensure stringent quality checks for all materials procured, maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quality control measures.5. Cost Optimization & Budget Management:

Manage the sourcing budget effectively, ensuring cost optimization across all procurement activities.

Monitor and control expenses to stay within budget while achieving the desired quality.6. Collaboration with Design & Production Teams:

Work closely with the Design and Production teams to understand their material requirements, timelines, and design specifications.

Provide input and recommendations based on sourcing capabilities and market Trends.7. Supplier Auditing:

Regularly visit supplier facilities to audit processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards, ethical practices, and timely delivery.8. People Management and Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sourcing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Set clear performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Job RequirementsKey Skills and Qualifications:

Experience: 8-12 years of experience in sourcing fabrics and special materials,

preferably within the couture or designer apparel industry.Technical Expertise:

o Strong knowledge of luxury fabrics, trims, and accessories used in couture design.

o Proficiency in vendor negotiation and cost optimization strategies.Industry Knowledge:
