Tata Medical Center (TMC) invites applications for post of Clinical Associate in the
department of Cytogenetics. The Cytogenetics unit at Tata Medical Center performs
cytogenetic studies in both haematological malignancies and solid tumors. The laboratory
performs karyotyping on hematological malignancies along with Fluorescent in situ
hybridisaiton (FISH). Solid tumors are studied by performing FISH analysis on formalin fixed
paraffin embedded tissue sections as well as cell blocks and cytology smears. The
Cytogenetics Laboratory contributes to wide range of clinical and basic research activities
across departments at Tata Medical Center. There will be opportunities for practical
application of research.
Minimum eligibility requirement
MD/DNB Pathology with at least 2 years of experience working in a Cytogenetic Laboratory
at the time of joining (April 2023).
The Post
The post is a full time position designed to support the functioning of the Cytogenetic
laboratory that offers diagnostic services at Tata Medical Center. It is expected that the
candidate should have experience in performing, analysing and interpreting data from
karyotyping, FISH and other molecular assays in haematological malignancies and solid
tumours. The Candidate should have experience to participate in quality control exercises
and validate new assays. The position holder is expected to contribute to the technical
/operational, administrative, academic, audit and research responsibilities of the department.
The position requires dedication, enthusiasm and commitment. The work will require
flexibility in work timings and an ability to work independently
