About the role:

The Operations Executive – Senior plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the manufacturing processes within the organization. They are responsible for ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to safety standards. The role involves managing production schedules, coordinating with various departments, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

i) Production Management:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate manufacturing activities to meet production targets.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, efficiency goals, and safety regulations.

ii) Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality control measures, and follow SOPs to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes and products to identify defects and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.

iii) Resource Planning and Optimization:

  • Manage production resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Optimize production layouts and workflow to minimize waste, improve throughput, and enhance productivity.

iv) Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction through lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and efficiency enhancements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and evaluate the effectiveness of improvement initiatives.

v) Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards in all manufacturing activities.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence to safety protocols among manufacturing personnel.
  • Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and hazards, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

vi) Team Leadership and Development:

  • Provide leadership and direction to manufacturing teams, including supervisors, operators, and technicians.
  • Coach and mentor staff to develop their skills, knowledge, and performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous learning.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven experience as an operations executive, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards) and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to operations executives and data analysis.
