Summary:
The work schedule for this position is:
Full Time (40 number of hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks – 12 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

The incumbent serves in the Section’s Consular Information Unit (CIU) and is responsible for updating and maintaining the Office 365 SharePoint, internal databases, shared drives, paper files, and secure Personally Identifiable information (PII), in addition to serving as a consular cashier. The incumbent will also assist in managing official and public correspondence, information and document management and provide consular administrative support. The incumbent will also provide back up for the full range of NIV support including data entry, document review, printing and pasting, filing and retrieval of visa applications and similar routine activities.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Two years’ work experience in managing computer applications and office clerical work involving contact with the public. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and word is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, knowledge of local laws, internal operating procedures and the basic principles of accounting, cashiering, financial record keeping, filing, general office procedures.

Education Requirements:
Successful completion of two years of university studies.

LANGUAGE:
English – Level IV

Hindi – Level III

Bengali – Level III

SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Demonstrate critical thinking, independent problem solving, strong typing skills. Ability to draft correspondence in precise and correct English. Proficient in MS Office (particularly Word, PowerPoint, Excel and outlook). The incumbent must be familiar with general office management practices and be able to use consular and Microsoft applications, including spreadsheet and database management and must also be able to deal with customers in a professional and courteous manner and work under high pressure.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Kolkata, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
