Job responsibilities will include:
- Acting as product expert, providing technical expertise to customers and the sales and applications teams mainly for SEM and DualBeam (FIB) systems
- Developing successful selling strategies for different products and customers including technical guidance to the sales force.
- Supporting the sales team to improve win-rate for SEM and DualBeam opportunities
- Strong support for the planning, preparation, execution and follow-up of product demonstrations to customers, both in-person and online.
- Keeping up to date on the latest products and technology, by developing relationships both inside and outside India, including hands-on experience if possible.
- Understanding competitor products and strategies
- Giving EM product and technology presentations to customers and explaining about key technologies and product strengths
- Helping to create optimized configurations and quotes, acquiring needed information from experts around the world, and advising about and responding to tenders.
- Market research, including participating in microscopy societies and conferences and identifying key opinion leaders
- Helping with event planning including conferences, workshops, trade shows and webinars, as well as training.
- Helping execute agreed sales strategies and achieve sales targets in India, together with the Asia business development (BD) manager and India sales and BD teams.
- Working to achieve agreed booking and pipeline growth targets and execute marketing plans, while providing regular updates to the business unit and regional management team.
- Explaining new products, workflows and solutions to customers including in the battery, steel, automotive, and coatings industries, as well as to academic researchers.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers to understand their perspective and requirements, both in academia and industry.
- Working closely with Corporate and Divisional marketing to adapt marketing materials for local use.
- Helping to train and develop other members of the team.
The ideal candidate would have:
- Good knowledge of electron microscopy technology and key applications, preferably with experience of using, selecting, purchasing or selling electron microscopy products.
- Strong background in materials science research, academic or industrial, or good understanding of a range of materials science customer applications.
- Experience interacting with industrial or academic scientists and researchers
- Commercial experience in a sales, marketing, or product promotion role or an ability to develop effective sales strategies and position products.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts, workflows and applications clearly to a range of audiences, to gain trust, to influence and persuade others, to present at conferences, to work well in teams, and to listen and understand customer needs.
- A university degree or equivalent, preferably a PhD or equivalent self-driven research experience in the field of materials science, metallurgy, electron microscopy, nanotechnology, engineering or similar.
- A strong drive to achieve results and work to deadlines, and the ability to work under pressure and be accountable.
- The ability to produce and implement new ideas, and to see new opportunities and effectively realize them.
- Good organizational, judgement and decision-making skills.
- Enthusiasm to work within a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple sites
- A high level of integrity and a desire to improve customer outcomes and achieve customer satisfaction
- Be willing to travel up to 70%
